SWVA Youth Football League

I know lot of you here have kids or relatives playing youth football. We should post game updates and scores.

The Indians had their first game yesterday at Appalachia. The crunch bunch score was
Indians 44 Bulldogs 8. I didn't stay for the D1 or D2 game.

If any one has the results of other games so far this season, please post them. I am looking for the following scores.

Crunch Bunch 8/29/09 Appy ? @ Pound ? Coeburn 6 @ Clintwood 26
9/01/09 Pound ? @ Coeburn ? Wise 44 @ Appy 8

D1 and D2 Games

Appy's D1 beat Wise 8-6,and the D-2 clobbered Wise 30-0 or so. The D-2 bunch from last year has mozied onto the 8th grade,where our crew beat Abingdon 14-8 and Virginia High (middle) 8-6 in a barnburner in a jamboree at VHS Monday night. The 8th grade will play at Pound tomorrow night at 6.

thanks, how come norton doesn't participate in the league?

Norton,like PV chooses to participate in-house. There are many pros and cons to both methods.

are there enough kids per age division to have their own league in Norton?

From what I've observed and heard, Norton has some coaches that take this stuff way too seriously!!

not true at all unlike other towns that dont let kids play but on dead ball kickoffs norton tries to get everyone to play so thats y they are going in house and if u think that norton has coaches that get into it too much u obviously are not watching the games close enough then!!
